Event Setup

Event setup covers the technical work that turns an empty venue into a space ready to receive an audience: loading in and out, rigging and suspending loads, erecting structures and truss, installing sound, lighting and video systems, cabling and electrical distribution, and the subsequent de-rig. This section collects news on the companies, the equipment and the projects behind that phase — festivals, trade shows, conferences and tours — along with the technology and safety procedures that make each temporary installation possible.

Technical build and event production

The build is the phase where the project moves from the drawing to the venue. Before the first piece of kit goes in there is a drawn layout, a load calculation and a safety plan; during the build, the rigging, structures, sound, lighting and video crews are coordinated in time slots so they do not block one another. The working window is usually short — often a single night — and it shapes both the technical design and the number of people and machines required.

That is why the build cannot be understood separately from event production: access, schedules, lifting platforms and anchor points are all decided at the planning stage. This category covers the projects, the suppliers and the technology involved in that chain, from event structures and truss through to the audiovisual systems installed on them.
