Event sound is professional audio applied to venues that are rigged, tuned and struck: concerts, festivals, tours, shows, conferences and corporate events. This Instalia section brings together news from that specific application: PA and line array deployments, FOH and monitor mixing, wireless systems and frequency coordination, and the projects of the companies that deliver them. It is distinct from Professional Sound, which is the general territory of the field, and from Professional Audio Systems, which focuses on the technical architecture of the system: what matters here is how a real event sounds, with its venue, its audience and its schedule.

Sound reinforcement and professional audio for events
Providing sound for an event starts with the venue. Coverage rules: an even level has to reach the whole audience without punishing the front rows, and that decides how many cabinets are flown, at what splay, and where the side fills, delays and subs go. The available power has to leave headroom above the working level, and intelligibility — which matters more than impact at a conference — depends as much on the room acoustics and background noise as on the system.
On top of that sits the live element: FOH and monitor consoles, personal monitoring, wireless systems with their frequency coordination, and the signal split to broadcast or recording. And underneath, the deployment: rigging schedules, rigging itself, power and redundancy, because here there is no second chance. The components are the same as in any professional audio system; what changes is that they are adapted to a different venue every week, in coordination with the rest of the event production.
